Mykolaiv has received passenger buses. They were purchased for the city by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) with financial support from the Government of Denmark.
The transport was recently manufactured by a Ukrainian company. Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych reported that a total of 12 buses are to be delivered to Mykolaiv under the project. They will be added to the fleet of the municipal enterprise "Mykolaivpastrans."
Today we received 2 brand new domestically produced buses. By the end of the year, we should receive 2 more units. Overall, we are expected to receive all 12 buses under the United Nations program by the end of March next year.
Mykolaiv City Mayor
The buses are high quality and have low fuel consumption. They can accommodate up to 60 passengers and are adapted for transporting people with disabilities.
Oleksandr Sienkevych noted that thanks to cooperation with partners, Mykolaiv is expanding its passenger transport fleet. The city authorities continue to work in this direction. Thus, the current challenge is not a shortage of vehicles but a lack of drivers.
Our biggest problem is having enough drivers. We invite drivers to our municipal companies 'Mykolaivpastrans' and 'Mykolaivelectrotrans,' which offer official salaries and social guarantees.
