Mykolaiv – Denmark Partnership

On March 31, 2023, the Danish and Ukrainian representatives took part in the first meeting of the Mykolaiv – Denmark Partnership Steering Committee and signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Memorandum outlined a strategic framework with a focus on four areas, namely: energy, water supply, social infrastructure, and agriculture. It also involved medical equipment, water towers and special-purpose vehicles for restoration, city and school buses, trolleybuses, as well as restoration projects.

The second meeting of the Steering Committee was held on July 3, 2023. Further assistance was provided in various fields within the framework of the Mykolaiv – Denmark Partnership.

On March 8, 2023, the Danish Ambassador to Ukraine, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, met with the Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksander Sienkevych, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Head, Vitaliy Kim, and the Head of Mykolaiv Regional Council, Hanna Zamazeieva, as well as with members of the local business community in Mykolaiv.

The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Partnership between Denmark, Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv Region.

The Mykolaiv – Denmark Partnership continues to develop and offer flexible and long-lasting solutions.

This European country demonstrates solidarity with Ukraine through multifaceted and long-term support provided on a bilateral basis and in coordination with our partners and allies. Since the beginning of the war, Danish support for Ukraine has reached over EUR 420 million for military spending and EUR 130 million for civilian spending, including humanitarian aid. Denmark's activities include military support, humanitarian and urgent support, financial support for Ukraine, accountability, mine clearance, protection of women and children, reconstruction, special partnership with Mykolaiv, and anti-corruption efforts.

Now cooperation with Denmark has moved to a new level. It takes place within the framework of short-term, medium-term, and long-term projects.

Such a partnership is a unique model of cooperation and is highly appreciated by all parties.
