UNOPS and Ukraine
UNOPS has been present in Ukraine since late 2016. It has supported the country in strengthening governance and rule of law, as well as improving access to healthcare.
Since the start of Russia’s invasion in 2022, UNOPS has focused on working together with the government, UN agencies and partners to address urgent needs arising from the war and lay the foundations for a sustainable recovery. Projects implemented by UNOPS since 2022 and currently under implementation have a total budget of over $150 million. The three main areas of UNOPS work in Ukraine are infrastructure, procurement and mine action.
UNOPS stands by Ukraine as it works towards a sustainable and prosperous future. Through its projects and capacity building efforts, it supports Ukraine’s integration into the European Union and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
