The Ukrainian Red Cross Society is an all-Ukrainian humanitarian public organization that helps the state in providing humanitarian assistance during armed conflicts and in peacetime.
The Society:

- Helps in restoring family ties lost as a result of armed conflicts, natural disasters, or migration,
- Provides psychosocial support etc.
Since February 24, 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Red Cross has promptly mobilized all their forces and resources and started providing assistance to the affected population. Since February 24, 2022, Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers and employees have been working almost 24/7 in various parts of Ukraine.
At present, the Ukrainian Red Cross is helping the state restore medical institutions, civilian infrastructure, and residential buildings damaged as a result of hostilities. For people who were forced to leave their homes, modular towns are being built with everything necessary for a comfortable life. The Ukrainian Red Cross provides communities that have been left without heat and electricity with wood-burning stoves, modular boiler houses, power generators, and other stand-alone equipment.
Their work is constantly coordinated with the government services of Ukraine, partners and colleagues from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
All resources are used to attract as much support as possible in order to help the affected population. The Ukrainian Red Cross cooperates closely with international donors, the public and private sectors, and partners from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Dozens of fundraising and crowdfunding platforms were launched in Ukraine and abroad. People from all over the world turn to the Ukrainian Red Cross, collecting and providing all possible assistance.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organisation. Its exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of the victims of war and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC also endeavours to alleviate suffering by promoting and strengthening international humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The ICRC has the mandate to operate in countries affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is the main partner of the ICRC in Ukraine. Together, we meet the needs of those most affected by the international armed conflict, especially in areas near the frontline. The ICRC and its Movement partners also contribute to the development and strengthening of the URCS capacity.
