The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) opened its office in Kyiv in 1997. During this time, UNICEF supported the Government of Ukraine in developing programmes in the fields of health, water and sanitation, education and protection of children's rights.
UNICEF provides vital assistance to children and families affected by the war in Ukraine. UNICEF is working to implement key commitments to address children's humanitarian needs, including access to education, psychosocial care, water and sanitation, mine risk education, and maternal and child health.
In response to the war challenges, UNICEF launched a large-scale humanitarian support programme «Spilno» in Ukraine, which provides children and their families with social services and protection.
The United Nations Children's Fund works with the government, local authorities, non-governmental organizations, volunteers and the private sector to launch and develop our activities and programmes.
